Hailing from the norths dance music capital it was inevitable DJ Rennie would reach his destiny as a producer, DJ and general Noise maker. Growing up he was heavily influenced by all things 80s including Prince, Michael Jackson and the legendary Quincy Jones, with a household full of Motown records dance music was the only real option!

With UK Hardcore turning his ears to the underground in 1993 aged 13 DJ Rennies love for vinyl and club culture were cemented.

Rennies love of the dance music scene saw him enter the thriving UK clubbing scene in 1996 aged 16. First stop the Hacienda The most famous club in the UK and stinking of gangs, girls and drugs but very exciting for a 16 year old!

Last tune of the night was Josh Wink Higher State of Consciousness Nothing could be more true and appropriate.

Within 2weeks DJ Rennie had bought his decks from DJ Basement Supplies become a regular at Golden and the love affair had begun. Over the next 3years Rennie and his mates would club at some of the best nights the UK has ever seen, Golden at Sankeys Soap, Cream at Nation, Gatecrasher at The Republic, Full on at nation.

This period inspired DJ Rennie and his best mate DJ Ric P (www.myspace.com/RicPdj)  to launch Euphoria on a Thursday at Sankeys (1997) This successful club night was heavily influenced by all things 'Golden' with Rennie warming up with some very interesting imported Trance.. The night saw himself and Ric P playing the last 90mins to a packed room loving the sounds of the up front house that was booming out of the speakers!

Rennies DJ gigs took in a large number of UK locations such as Edinburgh, Sheffield, Manchester and Derbyshire.

Relocating to Sheffield in 1998 to study saw the ideal opportunity for more gigs and the chance to meet some interesting people. This is where DJ Rennie met the infamous Jus Phil (www.myspace.com/JusPhil) a friendship was formed over their love of house muzik. Flippant Rhythm (www.myspace.com/FlippantRhythm) were regular visitors to the party houses of Sheffield and a long standing friendships were formed here!

Rennies move into production was inevitable with his production style is still influenced by his very early hardcore and Tony de Vit records.

Rennie's DJ style has always been up front, always had that tougher edge and 10years on from getting his first decks still loves house music in all its guises.

Yes DJing has now changed, we now use CD's, effects units and our own edits of tunes instead of straight up 12's but now the scene is back underground, the new school of DJ's and producers can breath new life into dance muzik which will never die it just changes and evolves.
